Intergenerational Learning

Anam Cara

The children take part in fortnightly visits to the local respite dementia care home, which is situated one mile from the school.
Weather permitting the children walk down assisted by staff and children from Primary 6. On the walk the children learn about Road Safety and improving their social skills.
During the visit, children take part in stories, games and singing with the guest and enjoy the intergenerational learning that takes place.
The children have received awards and certificates from Generations Working Together for their commitment to this project.
