Digital in action

As a school we love all things DIGITAL! We have an active Twitter account, Youtube channel, Early Years blog, the website is updated regularly and that isn’t talking about the things that go inside the classes.

Digital Action Plan

We are proud to have our senior Digital Leader programme running in the school for the third year in a row. The role of the Digital Leaders is to  distribute and collect  digital equipment around the school and  ensuring they are well maintained. They will also offer support to peers and teachers, highlighting their own strengths with technology. They go on an annual trip (at-least) to their local Apple store and develop their skills. Most recently they learned how to code using Spheros.

AB in Primary 4 won this year’s make it ‘App’-en competition. He designed a games app using the concepts of  hangman  for Maths. Well done AB!

The Digital Council working with the Local authority’s Digital Learning Officer, Jim Gibb, at the local authority. The pupils were learning how to design and create new games using the ‘Bloxels’ app. Earlier on in the year Jim showed us how to use a 3D printer and we make our own key rings.

Check out our Instagram safety video for using the app.
