In class we have our own rewards system, punch cards in which we receive a hole punch when we make great choices. One way in which we earn hole punches every week is through our writing. As long as we all put in our best effort we are all guaranteed at least one hole punch. Then, Mr M goes through the writing and then chooses some pieces which go up on our wall. There are places for 1 extra, 2 extra and 3 extra stars. Check back every week to see who our star writers are!

For writing this week we focused on building tension and suspense in the story with a variety of techniques. These included ellipses, similes/metaphors, short sentences, onomatopoeia and descriptive phrases. Everyone produced excellent work and received a punch on their punch cards. Mr M couldn’t decide the order of those to go on the wall so the class voted:
