Below is information from Mrs Gaw all about a competition relating to our sustainability topic. If you do design an entry for the competition please email it either to myself or directly to Mrs Gaw (gw09gawfiona@ea.n-ayrshire.sch.uk):
Hi everyone!
The UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on the 31 October – 12 November 2021. The COP26 summit will bring together parties to help accelerate action towards the goals in the Paris Agreement and the UN Convention on Climate Change.
One of the main aims of COP26 will be to have all countries commit to helping to secure Global Net Zero by 2050 and keep 1.5 degrees within reach. A big contributor to these high level aims will be to overhaul travel habits and transportation. As part of the Scottish Government’s sustainable transport plans, the Climate Change Team (supported by Road Safety Scotland), are holding a competition to increase awareness of how our transport choices impact on our environment and our health.
As part of the competition, pupils are being asked to design a logo to show what a greener transport future would look like.  I wondered if we could possibly do this as a homework exercise or feel free to do in class if that suits better. Please send any completed entries to me by Friday 24th September if possible. Thank you!
Hope you enjoy these tasks,
Mr M 😀
