Term 3 is going to be a busy term for P5/6. We have lots of learning planned for Numeracy and Maths, focusing on Shape and Measure. Pupils will have the opportunity to enjoy a lot of practical activities by creating nets and skeletons of 3D shapes. We will also be using sets of compasses and protractors to practise drawing circles and angles accurately.
We are all excited to be reading a novel this term and our book Wonder is proving to be a major hit with the children so far as they are all engaged of the story of August Pullman. Our literacy learning this term will focus around our novel.
As a topic we are learning about China and have the opportunity to attend a Chinese production in Saltcoats Town Hall as well as having a speaker into class.
This term the upper school department are involved in a Joseph production. The children in P5/6 are all involved, as well as singing and acting we will also be making props for the show.
Both STEM fortnight and Fairtrade Fortnight are this term and the children will be involved in lots of exciting learning, from building a large tetrahedron to learning about global world issues.
