Primary 3a have learned lots during our STEM fortnight.
Science We took were able to explore a variety of Science activities in the Discovery Zone. This included testing materials with magnets, discovering which objects could float and sink and being able to label different parts of a plant.
We had a visit from a marine biologist who has been researching marine mammals in the Clyde. We learned that there was a family of porpoises who had included a bottle nosed dolphin and could now communicate with each other.
We were learning about energy and the sun. We learned that a shadow is caused when light cannot pass through an object. We investigated the shapes of our shadows by drawing round them. We discovered that our shadow moves around with the sun and changes size. It is shortest at lunch time and then gets longer again.
