We visited Eglinton Park on Tuesday 3rd of October. First of all we met the rangers and had two workshops. We did some role play and acted out the jobs that some of the people in the castle would have had. Most of us preferred to be the Earl and Countess, although a few of us enjoyed being the Lady’s Maid or Butler.
Next we learned about the Eglinton Tournament and made our own family banners. We talked about what each symbol would mean. We chose things to symbolise bravery, intelligence or loyalty. Then we marched behind our family banners back to the cafe.
After our snack we went on an Autumn walk. We collected lots of different coloured leaves, some conkers, berries and pine cones. Mrs Munro also let us have some time in the play park. The rangers let us try on some knights armour too.
