Week Beginning 8/11/21

Good Morning/Afternoon P3/4!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and kept yourselves safe if you were seeing any fireworks or bonfires.

I would just like to say a massive well done to everyone on homework from last week. The writing that some people have sent to me was Fabulous!! I am very proud of the hard work you are all putting in to your description bubbles! A huge well done to those of you who managed to complete the SumDog challenge as well. There were a lot of questions so a big well done even if you didn’t manage to get them all finished. This week we will have Spelling, Reading and Numeracy.

Spelling

Here are this weeks words. Remember to practice the spelling pattern. Can you find any other words that have the spelling pattern that you are learning?

Reading

This week we have been learning about summarising. Can you pick a book, either from home or on BugClub, and write a summary about the story? Try to use the format we have been using in class.

Someone, Wanted, But, So, Then.

Think back to The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Numeracy

This week we have been learning how to round to 10 and 100. I have uploaded a learn screen and a game onto Education City to help you with this.
Can you teach someone at home how to round to the nearest 10? We can also round numbers bigger than 100, e.g. 426 to the nearest 10 is 430. Remember to draw your numberline when you are teaching someone how to round. Draw your line, find your benchmarks (the 10s on either side), find the midpoint and then round your number.
