Hi Guys and Girls!
Welcome back to homework again for term 2. As usual we will have spelling and I have uploaded some literacy and numeracy games onto Education City. I have also uploaded the Halloween Art activities we have been doing so you can show your families at home.
Spelling
As usual, I would like you to have a go at any active spelling activity to help you remember your words. If you can’t think of anything to do, check out the active grids on the blog to give you some ideas. Remember, if you are short of time, you could play a game of spelling tennis in the car on your way out somewhere or even just practice spelling them out loud to a parent or friend.
Literacy
I have uploaded 2 games onto Education City. These both have a writing focus.
The Plot Thickens – this is to help you with description and you have to use your senses to help you describe a setting.
Making Baskets 1 – this game will double check that you know how to spell some tricky words that are commonly misspelled.
Feel free to log in to BugClub if you feel like doing some reading but don’t worry if you don’t have time this week.
Numeracy
I have uploaded 2 number games onto Education City. Both games this week are focussing on addition and subtraction. Why not try out the mental strategies that we have been looking at over the last couple of weeks; Counting forwards and backwards (in 1s and 10s) and Re-ordering.
Above and Beyond – number word problems.
Spin-a-ring – adding 3 numbers together.
Art
Here are the art sheets we have been using in class this week to create our spooky Frankenstein monsters, pumpkins and witches. I will upload some of the completed ones next week. I would love to see any that you do at home.
