Stem Fortnight

For Stem Fortnight, we carried out the Humpty Dumpty challenge. We looked at the different things that we could use to protect Humpty Dumpty during his fall and came up with ideas such as cotton wool, a towel, feathers, stones, bubble wrap and play doh. Each group had an egg to neatly package into a sandwich bag ready for the big drop!

We recorded our predictions and then it was time to test them! Each group took a turn to come out and drop the Humpty Dumpty off of the wall. We then opened the package to see if Humpty Dumpty had been protected from the things that surrounded him and recorded our results. Some very exciting and smelly learning took place! We then discussed our results at the STEM showcase and told all the other classes what we had been doing.
