Annual General Meeting of Mayfield Primary Parent Council

Every parent/carer of a child attending Mayfield Primary School is automatically part of  what is called the Parent Forum. The Parent Council is the committee appointed to run matters on behalf of the Parent Forum and to be a channel of communication between parents/carers and the school.

Any parent/carer can be involved from Nursery through to Primary 7 and this involvement can be as little as half an hour to support one event in the year through to supporting each event organised or taking on an office bearer post. All support is invaluable to allow the Parent Council to continue to support the School and raise funds and experiences for all of our children.

The AGM will take place within the Activity Room of Mayfield Primary School on Tuesday 27th September at 9.00am. This is an important meeting at which we nominate the office bearers of the Parent Council for the coming year. We always welcome new volunteers and ideas but please note you do not need to take on an office bearer role to come along to meetings as all committee members are as important as each other.

Mayfield’s Parent Council

Mayfield Primary School and Early Years Class Parent Council work very hard to support the children and parents in the school by raising funds to enable supplementary activities to be offered to children and assist all parents and carers by subsiding events and providing events for families and children.

The Chairperson is Mrs Lee-Ann Millar.

To be successful in their work, the Parent Council ask for the support of parents/carers when organising and putting on events. Please let them know if you could become involved. Even if you work or have limited time, perhaps you would be willing to help out at the odd event.

Special thanks to all families for supporting the Parent Council as they have subsidised our annual trip to the Pantomime. Thanks to the fundraising, the Panto trip remained at £10 again in 2015. 🙂

If you can’t manage to join the Parent Council, there are many other ways you can help out in the school – please just enquire at the school office.
