Solo Talks

As part of our Australia topic we were given a homework challenge to research an Australian animal and deliver a solo talk about it to the rest of the class. We could either create a poster, Power Point presentation or book to use to show the class. Some of us were a bit nervous at first because this was our first solo talk to the whole class but we did really well! The talks were so interesting and we learned lots of interesting facts about the animals!

We each peer assessed someone else’s solo talk and the we self assessed them to see if we agreed. This was a really good way to get advice and ideas for when we do another solo talk.

Look at how confident we look in these photos:

  1. You really do look confident! I am impressed by the effort that you put into preparing for your talks. It is not easy to stand in front of a whole class and talk – very well done! It’s wonderful to hear that you also had the chance to self and peer assess – this is a great way of improving your own learning too. We can learn lots from other people:-)
