Chinese Dragons and Fans

While learning about China, we found out that dragons and fans are significant to Chinese people.  We used our design and technology skills to create our own.  It was tricky folding the paper and cutting out the dragon’s head.  Look at how great they have turned out!

Pandas

We found out that the giant panda was the national animal of China.  We are also happy that pandas are no longer endangered.  We painted our own pandas.  We used shading and tinting to create our backgrounds.  Look how effective they are!

Iain found out that the national animal of Scotland is a unicorn!

Taighlor- ‘It was really fun because we got to develop our painting skills’

Emma Mc- ‘I thought it was fun because it was messy and fun to do’

Today we were lucky to have the opportunity to develop our basketball skills with a professional basketball player.  Jordan helped us learn how to dribble a basketball properly and showed us how to perform a slam dunk.  It was very exciting and we were keen to ask Jordan lots of questions.

Luke- ‘I enjoyed dribbling’

Bryony- ‘It was very fun and I liked racing each other’

Sienna- ‘Basketball was fun and at the end Jordan tried to do a slam dunk’

Emma Mc- ‘I thought it was fun’

Apple Day 2016

Once again, we have had a successful harvest from our apple trees.  We used some of the apples to create delicious fruit smoothies.  We developed skills in food preparation, peeling and cutting.  We had to be very careful when using the peelers and the knives as they were very sharp.  We put our ingredients in a blender to make our scrumptious smoothies.  The noise of the blender was very loud!  Some of our fruit combinations were very ambitious!  Following this, we wrote a detailed recipe so we could make smoothies at home.
