Members of the Eco Committee lead this, but adults and children from across the school are asked to contribute their views. We fill out the official Eco Schools Environmental Review documents that cover all areas of environmental impact, including litter, biodiversity, waste and energy.<\/p>\n<p>Key Strengths:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri;font-size: large\">We\u2019ve done lots of work to improve our school grounds, including gardening and developing our play areas. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri;font-size: large\">Our energy rating is A+. This is the best possible rating. It\u2019s means we\u2019re carbon neutral. <\/span><\/li>\n<li>Lots more pupils are cycling and scooting to school.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0We\u2019ve got enough bins now.<\/li>\n<li>We work with lots of local businesses and community groups.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri;font-size: large\">Our Rights Respecting Schools work. We\u2019re working towards \u2018Gold Level\u2019. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri;font-size: large\">We work closely with St. Mary\u2019s Primary.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri;font-size: large\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri;font-size: large\">Everyone in the school is involved in what we do. Pupils, parents and staff. <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri;font-size: large\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri;font-size: large\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri;font-size: large\">We help to look after the local community: organising beach cleans and litter picks. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Areas for development:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pupils will engage in more outdoor learning.<\/li>\n<li>Develop quiet and relaxing outdoor spaces for everyone to enjoy.<\/li>\n<li>Establish a wormery\/compost bin.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage wildlife to visit our campus.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct wildlife surveys.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri;font-size: large\">Provide opportunities for children to engage in mindfulness and other relaxation techniques. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,Calibri;font-size: large\">Promote the message \u2018Grow and Eat Your Own\u2019.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Environmental Review Summary 2019 Every year we complete an Environmental Review.
