Learning at home<br \/>\n2. Home\/school partnerships<br \/>\n3. Parental representation<\/p>\n<p>All parents whose children attend the school are members of the Parent Forum.<\/p>\n<p>All Parent Councils are different. Parents decide on things like:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 What size the council should be<br \/>\n\u2022 Who should be a member of the Council<br \/>\n\u2022 How office bearers should be appointed<br \/>\n\u2022 When meetings are held<br \/>\n\u2022 Meeting agendas, such as: school uniform; parking near the school; anti-bullying policy<\/p>\n<p>The role of the Parent Council is to:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Support the school in its work with pupils<br \/>\n\u2022 Represent the views of all parents<br \/>\n\u2022 Encourage links between the school, parents, pupils, pre-school groups and the wider community<br \/>\n\u2022 Report back to all parents in the school (called the Parent Forum)<br \/>\n\u2022 Play a role in the appointment of Head Teachers and Depute Head Teachers<br \/>\n\u2022 Support the school and pupils during school inspection<\/p>\n<p>What is a Parent Council Meeting?<\/p>\n<p>This is a very informal meeting where parents\/carers come along and talk about what\u2019s going on in school. Fundraising is also discussed.<br \/>\nAn agenda is followed and, as it is a public meeting, parents can put forward suggestions or ask questions outwith the agenda.<br \/>\nThe HT\/DHT presents the Head Teacher\u2019s report and the Treasurer discusses the finances e.g. agreed expenditure.<br \/>\nThe Secretary takes notes during the meeting and the minutes from each meeting are discussed along with any outstanding issues.<br \/>\n(Please note that the meetings are not to discuss any individual concerns you have with your own child as such concern should be made directly with the child\u2019s teacher).<\/p>\n<p>Where are the meetings held?<br \/>\nKilmory Primary School Parent Council Meetings are held termly, on every second Monday in the staffroom at 6pm.<br \/>\nMeetings are noted on the school calendar and a reminder is sent out via groupcall a few days before the meeting.<br \/>\nMinutes are available and are shared by the Parent Council.
