Glasgow Taxi Outing Window

Secondary B had the opportunity to make crafts to display in a shop window in Troon for the Glasgow Taxi Outing. We made lots of underwater themed art which Emma put up in the shop window. On the day of the taxi outing the judges thought our artwork was brilliant and we won the window competition!!! We went through to Troon to see our window, speak to everyone at Willis Pharmacy and get some photographs. We met the pharmacist Fiona who was the one who came up with the ideas and we got to bring the trophy back to school for a while. After all that hard work we went down to the beach where we enjoyed our snack in the sunshine, a very busy and lovely day 🙂

Strictly Come Disco! for Sport Relief

On Friday 16th March we had a dress up or dress down day in aid of Sport Relief.  The whole school came together to get their Strictly Come Disco on partied the afternoon away.  We decorated with disco balls that the pupils made and had sensory lights.  Everyone had a great time and we raised £66.00 for Sport Relief.

Well done everyone!!!

Burns Brunch 2018

Our annual Burns Brunch event took place on February the 8th. It was well attended by both parents and the local community. Everyone joined in with the scottish country dancing, clapped along with the procession and address to the haggis and the skits performed by the primary classes. Then we had some scottish delicacies (haggis, neeps and tatties.)

It was a huge success and a fantastic experience for all our pupils to be involved in. We would like to thank everyone for their support and hope to see you next year 🙂

Sport Programme

Stuart Forsyth the Sports Development Worker connected to Fullerton Youth and Community Project has been coming into the school to deliver a 6 week block of sports taster sessions.

The pupils have had great fun and participated in all the activities which have been well organised and planned for our pupils.  The sports coaches have been involved in making the activities fun and challenging for all needs.

Dance-athon

We had great fun dancing all afternoon for our sponsored Dance-athon.  Thank you to all who joined in and supported us and to everyone who sponsored us.  We pledged to raise £100 and managed to raise a grand total of £340! Wow!

Secondary B Christmas Present Drive

Secondary B have been helping in their local community as part of their ASDAN Transition Challenge qualification. We have decided to collect gifts for underprivileged children through the Whitlees Centre.

We delivered memos to each class to go home asking for gifts to be sent in. The pupils have helped to wrap some of these gifts already, but more would be appreciated.

We are looking for gifts for children of all ages. If you are wrapping your gift please specify what age it is for and if it is a gender-specific toy please let us know. Secondary B will deliver these to the Whitlees Centre on Thursday 14th December.

Secondary B – Topic Fun!

We have been having a great time with our topic this term Britain in the 1940’s. We decided to make our own air raid shelter in our classroom. We stacked boxes for the walls and taped these together before covering them with bin bags. We painted big pieces of paper with sponges and rollers to look textured like the rusty corrugated metal. We felt the materials along the way and were very excited to get in as soon as there was a roof on. We have had loads of fun making our air raid shelter and are looking forward to learning and exploring inside it during the rest of the term.
