Welcome Back!

A very warm welcome back following the Christmas holidays. I hope you had a restful and peaceful one. We have been super busy already with lots planned prior to the February break. I would like to remind parents and carers to visit our blog and twitter feed on a regular basis to keep up to date with the latest news and events.

Progress is underway for our brand new school. A parent reference group meeting took place prior to the Christmas holidays and today I attended an ASN planning group meeting. NORR architects who designed Craigmarloch have been contracted to develop the concept design that Irene Farris produced. Irene will continue to be involved as she has a really good understanding of the needs of the children across the 4 ASN schools. What is really exciting is that the landscape surrounding the new build will be utilised fully to enhance the educational provision that will be created. There is no doubts that being outdoors enhances the wellbeing of not only our learners but our staff team too 👍

Exciting times …

Standards and Qualities Report

Standards & Quality Report – 2017 final

Please click on the link to read our Standards and Qualities Report.  This is a reflection on how well we think we are doing as a school.  It outlines our key strengths and next steps.  It has been produced based on our recent continuing engagement visit from inspectors and discussions and audits of our school by staff.

Fundraising for our Magic Carpet

A Big Thank you to Carol Caven who visited this morning to give us our first £100 towards funds for our magic carpet.  To say we are delighted is an understatement.  Classes have also received £20 from Yvonne Gribben, Head Teacher to grow into £100 as part of their Enterprise work for the session.

We would also like to thank Ardrossan Library for selecting us to receive money from their Christmas Craft Fair.  Click on the link below to find out more:

Parent’s Evening

Please come along to Parent’s Evening on Tuesday 3rd October.  This will be a good opportunity, if you haven’t already, to meet with the teaching staff in your child/young person’s class.  Staff will share with you; the work of the class, planned next steps and answers any questions that you might have.  It is important for you to feed into the discussion about what joint learning can take place across both home and school as it is important that we are working together to ensure the best for your child/young person.  Paul, Lesley and I will be available should you wish to discuss any aspect of your child’s education.  We would also like to share what we plan to improve in the school over the next coming year, therefore visit the gym hall to see, have a chat and a cuppa.

Look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.
