Skye Class Music!

Good Morning everyone!

It’s Thursday! We have a music activity for you today.  As we have been learning about France I thought we could listen to some French childrens’ songs and make some music!

I made a video of some ideas to make different sounds, and maybe even to create your own musical instruments if you are feeling creative!  You might already have some instruments in your house and these are perfect too!  Or if you’d prefer, you can just clap your hands!

50 Things To Do when school is not available – challenge 6

Challenge 6

Good morning everyone,

You may have seen or heard in social media that some schools are planning a ‘uniform day’ on Friday.  As this would be confusing to our children and young people, one of our mum’s has come up with an alternative idea which is one of Haysholm’s favourites!  We all love a pyjama day and have had such good fun in school before carrying out activities in our PJs.  Therefore on Friday 15th May, our teachers blogs will focus on activities linked to a PJ whole community event.

Remember it’s up to you whether you choose to take part or not.  All our teachers will be working from home in their PJ’s, myself included : )) so if you can … share photos via Facebook, Twitter or to the number you have and we can have a giggle #fun and #wellbeing.

Spring listening activities!

Good morning Skye Class!

I hope everyone in your house is well, and you are staying safe and keeping busy!  I have seen lots of lovely photos and videos of you all and we are all missing you lots!

Today I have a sensory activity again all about Spring.  As the sun is shining I thought we could be outside again. Last week we were looking at flowers, enjoying some sensory play with water and making some really pretty pictures!  This week we are focusing on listening for sounds of Spring.  Maybe you can hear the birds? Maybe, if you listen really closely you can hear some animal sounds? Listen for the wind or rustling leaves? Or listen to bees?  There will also be lots of other sounds. Maybe a car, a dog barking, people talking….. See what you can hear!

If you are able to go out for a walk then I have a little list of things you can listen out for.  Maybe you will be at home and can listen from your garden.

I have also given you some lovely video links which will let you hear lots of sensory Spring sounds. You could just relax and listen to these at home!

play a game

Hi Skye Class,

I hope you are all well and staying safe.  Today I thought you might like to play a game with your family. It can be a lot of fun playing games and it can help you with your learning too. They can help you with your counting, number recognition, how to take turns and share and problem solving, the list is endless ! If you have a favourite game at home play along with your family or even try a new game that may be someone else’s favourite. If you don’t have any board games then why don’t you try making one such as Skittles for bowling, throw the teddy in the hoop or even Tic Tac Toe (naughts and crosses). I have attached a learning intention. I hope you all have fun whatever you decide to play.right click and select copy

VE Day

Hi Skye Class,

I hope you are all well and enjoyed your weekend, I can see from Twitter/Facebook you have been busy.

As it was V.E day over the holidays I thought we could do some activities that are related to the VE celebrations that have been going on, I know if we had been in School we would have celebrated this. Here are a few links to give you some ideas and if you have a printer you can print some the activities off.  All these activities can be made into sensory play too, you could finger-paint a flag or make a flag from play dough or something more creative like a red, white and blue themed sensory tray. Whatever you do please have fun and stay safe.

Good morning Skye class

Good morning everyone! 🙂

I hope you are all well and you had a lovely long weekend!

Today is Monday and it is the start of our week. When we were in class, Skye boys and girl loved playing with water in the big tuff tray! You were waiting to see what exciting was there for you to play with. This week I thought it would be a great idea to explore water with everyday things that you probably have at home.

Today our focus will be on pouring water from one container to another.

What you need is various sized containers or bowls, buckets, water bottles, pots and… of course water! Fill them up with water and use your equipment to empty and fill them up again. You can use anything you have at home to pour water, here are some ideas:

Spring Art!

Good morning!

I’ts Thursday, and our last day of ‘school’ before the long weekend!   I thought it might be nice to end the week with an art activity.  Yesterday we used our senses to explore Spring, and looked at flowers and leaves.  Today I have a few art activities you could try – perhaps sitting in the garden if the weather stays nice!

I made you a wee video to watch.  This is the link.

Here are my attempts!  I wonder if you can try to make a picture of your own……  Think of the lovely Spring colours you could use.
