Good Morning Lewis Class – It’s Monday

Good morning Lewis Class

I hope this finds you all well and having enjoyed some time outside in the sunshine yesterday. The countdown is now on to the summer break, all be it a very different build up and break this year.

Today’s activity should you wish to take part is to look for and make simple  shapes.  You can look for the shapes in your house or when out and about.  Your shapes can be big / small and made with anything you have at home or in the garden i.e a circle of stones, a square with grapes, a rectangle shape made with cups or a triangle made from daisies, the possibllities are endless.  Remember if you do decide to do the activity, the staff in Lewis Class love seeing photos of all the activities you are doing at home.  I have attached a learning intention for you to share and a shape template.

Enjoy your day folks and fingers crossed the sun comes out.

Regards

Good Morning – Lewis Class

Good Morning

I hope this finds all our families well and having enjoyed the opportunity to have some time with others outside, at a social distance.  Our weather continues to be great which I know is helping my family and I get through this time.

As today is another glorious day, I thought I would suggest an outdoor activity.  So when you are outside today, I would like Lewis Class to look for signs of spring and take some photographs.  For example you might see flowers growing, lambs in the field, the sunshine in the sky or just a picture of our pupils wearing springtime / summer clothes.

Please find attached a learning intention for you to share with your child.  The staff in Lewis Class love seeing the pictures of what our pupils are all doing at home, it’s great to see them all.

If you wish for any activities ideas more specific to your child’s needs, please do not hesitiate to contact the Lewis Class and we would be happy to help.

Good Morning Lewis Class

Good Morning Lewis Class

I hope you all had a good weekend despite the weather. It was lovely to see all the photos of our pupil’s wearing their pjs on Friday.

Today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Week and at times like this our mental health has never been more important. Therefore today’s activity challenge is for the whole family, not just for our pupils.

I would like you all to do something relaxing today. This will look different for us all, for some it’s finding a cosy spot to read a good book, or having a zoom catch up with friends ,  it might be spending time alone away from a busy house or it may be simply enjoying a long soak in the bath.   However you like to relax, please make time for yourselves this week and make sure you get some relaxation.

Our pupils in Lewis Class enjoy relaxation throughout their school week. This is sometimes in snoozelen, where they listen to a story and enjoy a multi-sensory experience. Alternatively we have relaxation in class, where our pupils like to relax on bean bags and listen to a CBeebies bedtime story or watch a relaxation video on You tube, sometimes the odd foot massage is even enjoyed by our pupils lol.

Please find attached the learning intention to share with your child and the links to Cbeebies bedtime stories and a few suggestions for Youtube relaxation videos, although there are plenty more to choose from.

Just a reminder that the Lewis Class team are available via email or messenger video call should you or your child wish more specific activity ideas or just  to touch base with staff.

Have a good Monday,

Caroline Creighton – gw15creightoncarolin@ea.n-ayrshire.sch.uk

Happy Tuesday Lewis Class

Good Morning Lewis Class

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and although the weather was colder I hope you enjoyed the bright sunny days.

Today’s activity challenge for the pupils in Lewis Class is to look for circle shapes.  This can be done in and around the house, in the garden or when you are out and about taking some exercise.

It would be great to see how many circle shapes you can find.

Have a good day

Happy Tuesday Lewis Class

Good Morning Lewis Class

I hope that you all enjoyed your Monday holiday and of course we have our extra holiday this Friday, so I will be keeping my fingers crossed that the weather continues to stays good.

Today’s activity challenge is to build a den. It is something that my own two children have been enjoying doing during lockdown. They have built dens inside and outside and when out on our daily walks they have even managed to make dens in the trees.

The staff in Lewis Class love to see all that you are doing at home, so please do continue to share your photos.

Have a good day

Good Morning Lewis Class

Happy Wednesday to you all, I hope that home schooling continues to be going well for you all.  I know from my own household that it has its challenges but am sure we will all find our way.

Today’s activity suggestion for our Lewis Class pupils is to take part in an indoor scavenger hunt. Below is a learning intention for you to share. I have also attached a scavenger hunt checklist which you can use and tick off the items as your “pupil” finds them.

Good luck with it and have a good day.

Good Morning Lewis Class

I hope this finds you all well, yesterday was another sunshine day. The staff continue to enjoy seeing your pictures on Facebook, as it’s lovely for us to see all the super learning that’s going on at home.

As part of our topic this term, the pupil’s in Lewis Class have been learning about France. We have looked at pictures of the Eiffel tower and talked about how high it is. So today’s activity is to build a tower. This can be made from any materials you have in the house i.e. Lego, mega blocks, tin cans, be as inventive as you like. Let’s see how high you can build your tower before it falls down.

Good Morning – Tuesday 21st April

Good Morning Lewis Class

It’s another great days so I hope that you will all get the opportunity to get some time outside to enjoy it. Today’s activity suggestion, should you wish to take part, is for pupils to explore inside a sensory house. This is something our pupils are familiar with as we have used it in class several times. It allows pupils to enter inside a house and explore the various rooms, carrying out a wide range of activities. There is also the opportunity to go into the sensory garden where you can select Springtime, and pupils can carry out some spring time garden activities.

Below is a learning intention for you to share with your child and the link to the website. Unfortunately I have tried to access this on my phone and iPad but unless you have adobe flash on these devices, it does not support it, therefore, it is best accessed on the computer.

Have a good day

Monday 20th April

Good morning and a warm welcome back. I hope that you all enjoyed the Easter break and managed to have some fun together in the sunshine, despite such challenging times.

Similar to before the break, the staff in Lewis Class will continue to post ideas and suggestion for activities you might like to do with your child at home, however please do not feel under any obligation to carry these out as we understand how challenging these times are for everyone.  I have attached a learning intention and a two visual schedule for today’s suggested “helping to prepare” lunch activity.

Furthermore if you would like to discuss activities more specific to your child, please do not hesitate to contact the Lewis Class team.

Have a good day
