Welcome to our school website.
Haysholm school forms part of Lockhart Campus, a brand new purpose built facility which will open prior to the end of Session 20-21. We are very much looking forward to transitioning to a facility which is a bespoke building designed to meet the needs of a range of learners who currently attend; Haysholm, James McFarlane, Stanecastle and James Reid schools.
We aim to provide a high quality provision where each child is treated individually and learning is personalised to meeting their unique needs. We recognise that every child has potential and aim to develop their skills, interests and talents as best as we can.
We were praised by Education Scotland in our recent inspection report (June 2019) for:
- effectively using the local community to support children’s learning
- our approaches to developing children and young people’s communication skills
- establishing an effective culture of continuous improvement where staff regularly reflect on their practice.
Our teaching and support staff work together to ensure that they deliver high quality learning within the Curriculum for Excellence. Despite COVID-19, our staff team continue to evolve our approaches to delivering education and ensuring that it is of the highest quality. Following evaluations of previous lockdown, we have listened to our families to bespoke our approach during this current lockdown. Teachers will be in regular daily/weekly contact through Seesaw. You may still wish to use our website to access useful links to supplement your child’s learning. Meantime, you know where we are.
Wow! Finally I have managed to have a good look at the site and saying that I’m very impressed is just an understatement. It is great to keep on top of Kingsley activities and what’s going on within the school.
I’ll make a point to check it back more often.
Thank you! The classes are all involving the children more in uploading the posts to help them become more aware and share the good learning that is going on.
