Good morning, I hope you are all keeping well.  For literacy today, I would like you to practise the phonics flashcards, provided in the literacy learning pack at the start of primary 2.  Following this I would like you to play Hang Man with a parent or sibling, using the spelling words that you made up yesterday.

Consonant Group– Words with the ‘ai’ sound.

Vowel Group– Three letter cvc words, with ‘a’ in the middle.

 

Remember it’s important to keep active.  Find your favourite Just Dance dance on Youtube and get dancing.

Well done to the five children, who have logged into their Sumdog accounts so far this week. Remember the competitions end at 3pm today.  Get playing!

Think of words with the ‘ai’ spelling pattern, for example snail, mail, hail, nail, rail, rain, pain, hair, fair, lair.  Practise spelling them using a dice and the roll and spell grid (below).  Remember to take photos of your work and post them on the blog.

Vowel Group– Your sound this week is ‘a’ within three letter words.

Think of three letter, cvc words that have the ‘a’ sound in the middle, for example hat, mat, fat, rat, rag, bag, fan, man, tan, ran.  Practise spelling them using a dice and the roll and spell grid (below).  Remember to take photos of your work and post them on the blog.
