Opportunities to learn Gàidhlig
There are a variety of pathways available to begin learning Gàidhlig. It is important to have some knowledge of Gaelic language when sending your child to a Gaelic Medium Education setting so that as a parent/carer you can offer your child support and be included in their journey towards fluency in two languages.

North Ayrshire communities
The North Ayrshire communities’ team have employed a Gàidhlig tutor who provides weekly classes to parents whose children are attending Bun-sgoil Pàirc Whitehirst. Many parents comment that they are finding the classes very useful towards being able to help their child use Gaelic at home.

E-sgoil

Sabhal Mòr Ostaig
Sabhal Mòr Ostaig is the national centre for Gaelic Language and Culture and is based on the Isle of Skye. There are residential and short online courses available to learn Gaelic. https://www.smo.uhi.ac.uk/?lang=en
