The Timekeeper’s Journal

The Timekeeper’s Journal

Max Thompson had always been fascinated by clocks. His bedroom was filled with them—old pocket watches, sleek digital clocks, and even a large, ornate grandfather clock that had been in his family for generations. But the most intriguing timepiece in his collection was one he had found at a dusty antique shop downtown. It was a small, brass pocket watch, unlike any he had ever seen. The face was covered in strange symbols instead of numbers, and no matter how many times he wound it, the hands never seemed to move.

One Saturday afternoon, Max decided to take the watch apart to see if he could figure out why it didn’t work. As he carefully pried open the back, a small piece of folded parchment fell out. Curious, Max unfolded it, revealing a series of intricate diagrams and notes scribbled in a language he didn’t recognize. But one word stood out clearly at the top: Timekeeper. Beneath it, a single line of text read, “Turn the hands to midnight, and the journey begins.” Max’s heart skipped a beat. What journey? With trembling fingers, he adjusted the watch’s hands to midnight. The moment they clicked into place, the room around him began to blur and spin, and Max realized he was about to find out.
