P5A have been playing French vocabulary games “ Rechercher la gomme” – Find the rubber and “Pomme empoisonnee” – The poisoned apple.
We have also enjoyed “How did you work it out?” numeracy work.
This month P5a have been painting Autumn leaves with oil pastels and watercolour paints.
We have been developing our Critical Skills during group discussions on The Rights of the Child.
As part of our outdoor education we have been learning about compass directions and angles.
This month, P5a have enjoyed playing signing hangman.
We have also had the opportunity to present our Famous Scot Homework task to the rest of the class.
Some pupils even made a presentation to the class on the respiratory system!
P5a have been enjoying taking part in a variety of numeracy starters. We also loved welcoming parents and carers into our class as part of our Open Afternoon.
As part of World Book Day, we enjoyed “The Big Bedtime Read.” We also had the opportunity to pair up and read alongside Primary 2 pupils.
Another part of the week which we enjoyed was visiting Bourtreehill Library.
In maths we have been using stop watches to time a variety of activities.
P5A have used the natural materials found in the local area to sort and classify. We have also used the leaves found in creative ways.
We have had fun testing air resistance using differently designed paper aeroplanes and investigated rotating paper helicopters.
P5A have been out and about learning to identify trees from their leaves. We have also used a tree diagram to identify another selection of leaves. We had a great time during the outdoor learning afternoon pitching tents and learning more about dairy farming.
