This month we have been participating in outdoor learning. We have learned about Viking long ships and shields as well as making fraction walls made with natural materials.

We enjoyed our nature walk and used a key to identify different types of trees by looking at their buds. One species of tree has beautiful blossom on it. On our way back to school, we danced the Worm Boogie and were amazed when the worms wriggled up to the surface of the soil.

We have five wonderful caterpillars in our classroom. We are observing them every day and are amazed at the changes we see. They will become Painted Lady butterflies when they emerge from their cocoons.

We had many parents in our classroom on Science Afternoon. Our experiments both were about waste – cleaning with waste and dissolving waste packaging.
