P3B enjoyed a wonderful Scottish afternoon. We tasted some traditional foods then listened to Scottish music played on an accordion. The highlight of our afternoon was seeing Ruaridh perform his Highland dancing. Well done Ruaridh you were fabulous!
These are the three winners of the Scots verse competition from P3B. Well done to everyone who recited their poem, the standard was very high.
We had fun writing a Scots poem with a partner, sometimes it was tricky trying to say some of the words.
We have been working on time. We have been learning about analogue and digital times and how to read these. We used a timer to find out how many things we could do in a minute, we were surprised at how many star jumps ,could be done.
P3B have been working hard on Maths this year. We have been learning to subtract using exchange and are getting more and more confident with this.
We enjoy playing games to help us learn our number bonds to 10. Fifteen is one of our favourite games to play with our friends, we can get very competitive.
We have been self-assessing our work this month. We use traffic light cubes to tell our teacher how we are feeling about the work we are doing.
In P3B we use lots of different materials to help us with our number work, you can see us using Numicon and tens and cubes. These can help us understand number and allow us to solve problems.
P3B were scientists for the afternoon. We had a fantastic time with Mr Dreyer finding out about friction, forces and gravity.
We have been looking at Global Goals in class and have talked about deforestation. We each planted a pine cone and hope that we can grow our own forest.
We enjoyed learning about Sound in Science. We took part in lots of exciting experiments.
We have been working hard on Materials in Science. We were doing an experiment to find out which materials are waterproof.
We have working so hard in Maths. We are looking at Information Handling and Carroll Diagrams. We have also been working on rounding numbers to the nearest 10 – we have even learned a special rhyme to help us remember what to do.
During our Castle Construction Challenge Lyle made a fantastic cannon, he was very proud of it!
