We have been learning about Scottish culture  and have participated in a variety of activities including scottish dancing, tartan printing, learning scots words and reciting scottish poems and songs.  We held our annual Burns Supper on Friday 27th January and the children had the opportunity to sample some traditional  scottish fayre including haggis, neeps and tatties.

We have been putting our ‘Junkyard Garden’ to good use during outdoor learning.  Using our design, problem solving and team work skills to produce imaginative creations with recycled materials.

On Tuesday 7th February we welcomed ‘The MacDougalls’  to the Early

Years class. We were entertained by their ‘Silly Singalong’ pop up show and had fantastic fun joining in with the songs and actions.

Thank you very much to the Parent Council who funded the cost of the show, we thoroughly enjoyed it!

We have been using a wide range of equipment during our gymnastic lessons with Mrs Mackenzie.

We are developing our maths skills by identifying numerals and using 1:1 correspondence techniques to match the number with the identified quantity.

“We had a very successful Easter Stay and Play session which was well attended by parents/carers.  Lots of fun was had by children and adults alike, we though it was ‘eggcellent'”.
“A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our sponsored ‘Bear Hunt’ event.  The children were very good at solving the clues to find the teddy bears that were hiding in the local community.  We are delighted to have raised over £1000, the money raised will be used to develop and improve our outdoor learning environment”.

We had a fantastic time on our trip to Eglinton Park despite the rainy weather.  We explored the woods, found a variety of mini beasts, climbed the castle ruins, had a stick race and of course had lots of fun at the play park!
