Although you are learning from home and we can’t all be together in our lovely classrooms, we want to know that you are managing with your tasks and that you stay safe and well in the process. As we are not able to see you in the normal way, we would like you to complete this short survey with your family to help us understand how you are managing. Let your teacher know when you have completed the survey, through Google Classroom, See Saw or by email, as we will be awarding everyone 200 Sumdog coins as a reward! Thank you very much.
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to ‘Drop Everything and Move’ and take part in the following event:
Event: The Ultimate DrEAM Step Challenge
Format: Inter School Online Competition
Date: Starts Monday 25 January
As we continue to navigate through these times of uncertainty and change, it’s more important than ever that we take time to look after ourselves and pay attention to our mental and physical health.
As part of North Ayrshire’s campaign, Drop Everything and Move (DrEAM) Active Schools and KA Leisure have worked together to bring you “The Ultimate DrEAM Step Challenge”.
This is an Inter School competition where we are inviting our teachers, school staff, parents (and of course pupils) to enter our DrEAM Step challenge and represent their school but if you’d like to take part as a club, NAC dept or organisation just for fun then you are more than welcome.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Step 1: Register by clicking this link and completing the registration form bit.ly/392KdLL (Don’t forget to tell us what team you will be representing i.e. your school. department, club or organisation)
Step 2: Encourage your colleagues/ class to sign up too. Why not challenge other schools in your area?
Step 3: Work out how you are going to record your steps. This can be done using a pedometer, smart phone apps (e.g. Map my Walk, Strava or anything else that tracks your steps), smart watch or measure your route using google maps.
Step 4: Make time for a walk/ run/ cycle/ skoot in your daily routine. Watch out for some inspiration on our social media channels.
Step 5: Record your weekly total and click on our weekly Sunday Step Tracker link each week to record how many steps you have completed. If you record your activity in distance simply use an online convertor to convert to steps using this link https://www.convertunits.com/from/kilometers/to/steps or a similar online convertor.
Step 6: Watch out on our social media channels for regular leaderboard updates! (NB Only steps tracked by a Sunday at midnight will be counted in the weekly totals on the leaderboard although can still be tracked and count towards your grand total)
