Arran update 24/01/19
We swapped activities today with the blue group, climbing and cutting down rhododendrons at Brodick Castle! So that meant the red group and green group were orienteering and seal watching. It was a beautiful day and everyone has had lots of fun. Now time to get ready for the disco! See you tomorrow!
Arran update 23/01/19
We have had a really busy day! The red and green groups developed their climbing skills on the climbing wall and cut down the evasive Rhododendrons at Brodick Castle. The blue group did orienteering then seal watching. They found out all about the no take zone. After dinner we all went out for a night walk!
Today we were orienteering at Brodick Castle. Then we went to the beach and found a seal colony. We were also learning about how the moon and sun cause the tide to come in and out.
Arran Update 22/01/19
Everyone arrived safely after enjoying the ferry trip.
The first afternoon was spent enjoying the centre and settling into the rooms. Everyone was then kitted out with their outdoor kit, before embarking on the survival challenge. After enjoying dinner, everyone captured the main events of the day in their learning logs.
We look forward to hearing about day 2.
We all ventured out in the snow to Kings Caves. We explored the forest and rocks and discovered lots of interesting facts. At the caves we built a fire and toasted marshmallows! Then we headed back. Before we got on the mini buses we had an amazing snowball fight.
