In Primary 3 we have been learning about Scottish islands and have looked at the life of Katie Morag on the Isle of Struay. We worked as a class to paint the Isle of Struay and in pairs we were given a feature of the island to create. We could use a range of materials to create the features and had to decide which materials would be most appropriate.
We have been learning to write different types of poems. We created our own Scots poems and worked in pairs to create a mind map about an animal. In our mind map we could only use Scots nouns, verbs and adjectives.

In Primary 3 we have enjoyed getting to know our new classmates and have discussed what makes a good friend. We created ‘complement clouds’ about our friends in the class.
We have also been busy learning about different materials and their uses. As part of our Castles topic we used different materials we could find in the classroom to make our own castles. We had to consider which materials would be best and tried to include all the parts of a castle we have been learning about. We also used chalk to draw our own castles inspired by the work of artist Paul Klee.
