In Science, P1C have been exploring forces. Through play, we have worked collaboratively to find out which toys need a push or pull force to make them work.
In numeracy, we have been learning about money. We have explored all coins to £2 and can now name and recognise them. We have enjoyed using what we have learned about money to help us buy items from our Scottish themed shop in our imaginative area.
P1C had a wonderful time during Book Week Scotland. We visited Bourtreehill Library where all the children were gifted a Read, Write, Count bag. The class also enjoyed having the opportunity to choose a new book to read from the book swap stall at school.
P1C had a wonderful STEM based morning where we explored pushes and pulls and investigated how these forces can move and change the shape of an object.
P1C have been learning about Harvest. We enjoyed reading the story ‘The Little Red Hen’ and afterwards we decided to make our own bread. We worked together to follow the instructions on the recipe and we were delighted that our bread rolls turned out to be so yummy!
