P7 Leavers Afternoon Tea

What a wonderful turnout we had today for our P7 Leavers Afternoon Tea. It was lovely to see so many faces in the school, to support and celebrate this milestone in the children’s educational journey.

It was lovely to see some familiar but missed faces such as Mrs White and Mrs Jamieson, who came back to see our P7s getting ready to move on.

Elderbank P7’s visit the Merck Curiosity Cube

Our P7 Young STEM Leaders were invited to Greenwood Academy to take part in the activities in Merck’s Curiosity Cube.

The group were able to identify different bacteria, good and bad, through microscopes and find out about our microbiome and how our decisions and actions have an affect on the bacteria in our body microbiome. We were delighted to  meet some ex-pupils from our area, who now work for Merck and inspire young people to work in  Science and STEM careers. They also made Mrs Bigham /McEwan  feel very old!
