The Gear Up Initiative supported by Greenwood Academy pupils and funded by the Prince’s Trust have helped the Health and Wellbeing Committee with providing a free ‘Bike Doctor’ service in preparation for the Big Pedal Event.
In addition to the work they have done for the school they have also reconditioned three bikes and donated them to Elderbank. The Health and Wellbeing Committee would like to run a competition to give pupils the opportunity to win the bikes.
Competition opens next week at the same time as our Junior Road Safety Officers’ Travel Smart Week – 13th to 16th May.
For a chance to win a bike pupils require to submit a drawing and accompanying statement outlining why they should win one of the bikes. Entries must include pupil’s name and class on the back. Entries should be submitted to their class teacher, which will then be collected by our Health and Wellbeing Committee.
The competition will run throughout our Travel Smart Week and continue through until Friday 31st May. The lucky winners will be announced at one of our Assemblies in early June.
