The need for procedures is to ensure that all children feel happy, safe and secure within the Nursery.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201csettling in\u201d time will vary from child to child or family to family.\u00a0 The time your child spends within the Nursery is flexible and is guided by how well you child copes within the playroom.<\/p>\n<p>First Day\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You will meet with your child\u2019s Keyworker, complete the enrolment paperwork and discuss allergies, likes dislikes etc.\u00a0 Your child may visit the playroom and if feeling confident can remain there whilst the paperwork is completed in the Parent\u2019s Room.<\/p>\n<p>Stage 1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Your child will come into Nursery for at least an hour, parents\/carers will be encouraged to go to the Parent\u2019s Room for a tea or coffee.\u00a0 Parents\/carers <u>MUST<\/u> remain within the building during this time.<\/p>\n<p>Stage 2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Your child will have a longer time within the playroom, again, this is flexible, depending on how he\/she is settling.\u00a0 Parents\/Carers <u>MUST <\/u>remain within the building during this time.<\/p>\n<p>Stage 3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 By this time, staff usually have an idea of how the settling in process is going, your child\u2019s Keyworker will discuss the plan from here on.<\/p>\n<p>*Children who attend full time\/2 \u00bd day model or transferring from another nursery, will have an individual Settling In\/Transition which will be discussed with your child\u2019s Keyworker whilst completing the necessary paperwork.<\/p>\n<p>Try to stay positive and remember that some children may take longer to settle than others.\u00a0 The playroom has up to 60 children and lots of play areas so it can be a lot to cope with, especially when they are learning new routines\/faces and building new friendships<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SETTLING IN PROCEDURES The first few weeks when a child is settling is a time of crucial importance to their later happiness within the Centre.
