{"id":8,"date":"2017-10-05T15:21:31","date_gmt":"2017-10-05T15:21:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/corsehillprimary\/?page_id=8"},"modified":"2021-10-19T12:38:40","modified_gmt":"2021-10-19T12:38:40","slug":"our-school","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/corsehillprimary\/our-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Our School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/public\/corsehillprimary\/uploads\/sites\/12096\/2020\/08\/10140410\/Corsehill-trees-and-values.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-549\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/public\/corsehillprimary\/uploads\/sites\/12096\/2020\/08\/10140410\/Corsehill-trees-and-values.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"278\" height=\"136\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Welcome to Our School<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Corsehill Primary School is a non-denominational school serving the Corsehill area of Kilwinning.\u00a0 The school is situated within the housing scheme on the Irvine side of Kilwinning.\u00a0 Visitors can locate the school by turning left off the Kilwinning \u2013 Irvine Road onto Fergushill Road and turning fourth left off Fergushill Road at the local shops, and then first left into McGavin Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>The original building was built in 1959 with a semi open-plan infant wing being built in 1975.\u00a0 The single storey building is a brick built flat roofed structure comprising 12 classrooms and a variety of other facilities including a gymnasium\/dining room, conference room, library and\u00a0nurture\u00a0room all of which provide bright attractive and spacious accommodation for staff and children. \u00a0Our forward thinking staff have taken a traditionally built building\u00a0and imaginatively created work spaces for our children that suit a 21st century educational needs, notably our Discovery Zone, Learning Zone and Play Zone. Outdoor facilities include a\u00a0large outdoor classroom,\u00a0a wonderful wildlife area and biodiversity pond with pallet pathways, a productive vegetable and herb\u00a0garden and fruit orchard, a storytelling fit pit, \u00a0a magical willow den, the Early Years Class\u00a0garden, a beautiful decked area, astro turf and soft play area.
