Welcome to Our School<\/span><\/h3>\n

Corsehill Primary School is a non-denominational school serving the Corsehill area of Kilwinning.\u00a0 The school is situated within the housing scheme on the Irvine side of Kilwinning.\u00a0 Visitors can locate the school by turning left off the Kilwinning \u2013 Irvine Road onto Fergushill Road and turning fourth left off Fergushill Road at the local shops, and then first left into McGavin Avenue.<\/p>\n

The original building was built in 1959 with a semi open-plan infant wing being built in 1975.\u00a0 The single storey building is a brick built flat roofed structure comprising 12 classrooms and a variety of other facilities including a gymnasium\/dining room, conference room, library and\u00a0nurture\u00a0room all of which provide bright attractive and spacious accommodation for staff and children. \u00a0Our forward thinking staff have taken a traditionally built building\u00a0and imaginatively created work spaces for our children that suit a 21st century educational needs, notably our Discovery Zone, Learning Zone and Play Zone. Outdoor facilities include a\u00a0large outdoor classroom,\u00a0a wonderful wildlife area and biodiversity pond with pallet pathways, a productive vegetable and herb\u00a0garden and fruit orchard, a storytelling fit pit, \u00a0a magical willow den, the Early Years Class\u00a0garden, a beautiful decked area, astro turf and soft play area. The building is accessible to those with physical disabilities.<\/p>\n

Corsehill has a working capacity of 304 and a current roll of 221 pupils and a Early Years class which is located within the school with a capacity of 80 pupils (40am \/ 40pm.) \u00a0We have a very well resourced \u201cWoodland Room\u201d which caters for under threes who have been admitted through North Ayrshire Council\u2019s referral system.<\/p>\n

Corsehill Primary and\u00a0Early Years Class\u00a0aim to make our school an open, attractive, stimulating working environment where everyone is treated with respect, sensitivity, and equality and to extend this to our partnership with parents and the wider community.<\/p>\n

We support the professional development of all staff through a continuous process of evaluation, review and training.\u00a0 We seek to achieve high standards of attainment in both learning and teaching by providing a broad, balanced, accessible curriculum suited to the needs of all our children in order that they may achieve their full potential.<\/p>\n
