{"id":24,"date":"2019-01-26T13:13:57","date_gmt":"2019-01-26T13:13:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/corrieprimary\/?page_id=24"},"modified":"2019-01-26T13:13:57","modified_gmt":"2019-01-26T13:13:57","slug":"pupil-voice","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/na\/corrieprimary\/pupil-voice\/","title":{"rendered":"Pupil Voice"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<p class=\"entry-title\">As part of our plans for improvement we aim to provide our pupils with many opportunities to lead their own learning and feel valued and supported in developing a school that meets their needs.\u00a0 Through this process we also aim to give them real life meaningful experiences which involve them working collaboratively and think creatively to solve problems.<\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Building the Curriculum 4; Supporting children to develop and apply skills as part of CfE.<\/p>\n<p>Development of skills is essential to learning and education and helping develop the 4 capacities.\u00a0 it is about creating lifelong learners who can reach their full capacity.<br \/>\nSkills need to be developed across all contexts.<br \/>\nCfE is firmly focused on learner and providing a variety of opportunities.<br \/>\nWe must facilitate Pupil Voice and encourage our children to lead their own learning, take more responsibility and work more independently.<\/p>\n<p>To provide children with the opportunities to develop these skills at Corrie we encourage:<\/p>\n<p>Routines that ensure pupils always know what they do next and what is expected of them eg. coming into activites to ensure no dead time, clear daily programmes, extension tasks.<br \/>\nChildren leading assembly.\u00a0 Classes sitting in Houses and House Captains managing behaviour.\u00a0 House points awarded for good behaviour.\u00a0 Children choosing songs, organising pupil news.<br \/>\nSMT regularly meet Pupil Committees and House Captains to discuss issues.<br \/>\nLunchtime monitors.<br \/>\nIndependent and active learning areas.<\/p>\n<p>As a school we always try to think innovatively about our approach to change and an aspect we have developed is to have committees.<\/p>\n<p>Committees offer children the opportunity to make a positive and active difference to their school and covers a wide variety of aspects of school life.\u00a0 The children are also able to meet and get to know other children from different classes and work cooperatively with a variety of people.
