Parents and carers of S5 pupils who are thinking of applying to university after S6 are encouraged to come along to an online information session, hosted by the UWS Foundation Academy Team on Tuesday 24th of February at 6pm – 7pm. This will provide a brief overview of opportunities at UWS and the programme, which is a widening access initiative designed to support pupils in preparing for university study. Pupils’ sign-up and enrol onto the programme during S5, then attend a campus visit day in June followed by a module in S6 PSE. It gives pupils an experience of university life, develops academic skills and supports pupils with the university application process. The programme also allows pupils to achieve a 20-credit qualification at SCQF level 7 and can increase their chances of receiving an offer of a university place.

During Scottish Apprenticeship Week (2nd-6th March) DYW Ayrshire and SDS are collaborating to deliver the Your Next Move Careers Event.  This year Ayrshire College, Kilwinning Campus are hosting us on Wednesday 4th March from 5-7pm.

There will be Employers, Employment agencies, Support organisations, Colleges, etc and also the SDS staff to help and guide everyone around.
