sound technicians need to inquire, research, try and self reflect on how best to capture sound and music from a variety of sources<\/li>\n<li><em>Imaginative<\/em> &#8211; it is crucial that sound engineers are creative and can come up with imaginative ideas ie sound effect creation<\/li>\n<li><em>Open-minded<\/em> &#8211; developing creative industry awareness requires you to become a better listener to appreciate a number of elements within each piece of recorded sound ie the bass and the acoustics<\/li>\n<li><em>Problem solving<\/em> &#8211; sound technicians must identify, respond to and present solutions in creative ways<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Horizons &#8211; where can this subject take you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Scottish Music Industry Association states for a nation so small, Scotland\u2019s recording artists exert a disproportionate influence on the world of music. \u00a0There is a career for you in Scotland\u2019s thriving creative industry, whatever your interests. \u00a0It\u2019s one of Scotland\u2019s most diverse sectors, covering commercial recording, digital advertising and the every growing gaming industry, something Scotland is a big player of the world stage ie Rockstar North games and Minecraft were developed in Dundee.<\/p>\n<p>The industry is expected to grow by\u00a0<strong>2.40%<\/strong>, that\u2019s an estimated\u00a0<strong>1,300\u00a0<\/strong>jobs being created per year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pathways &#8211;
