it is in everything that we do!<\/p>\n<p>Applications of Mathematics is a course designed to develop learners\u2019 mathematical reasoning with the focus of relevance to learning, life and work.\u00a0 It is a course which focuses on application of knowledge and skills in the following areas of Mathematics: Finance, Statistics, Geometry, Measure and Numeracy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What skills are developed?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>communication (verbal, written, visual)<\/li>\n<li>problem solving<\/li>\n<li>logical thinking<\/li>\n<li>creative and critical thinking<\/li>\n<li>teamwork<\/li>\n<li>independent working\u2014taking charge of your own learning<\/li>\n<li>research and analysis<\/li>\n<li>calculations<\/li>\n<li>knowledge and skills to tackle real life problems in a range of contexts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What kind of person does it take?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>logical, methodical and analytical<\/li>\n<li>a number person<\/li>\n<li>accurate (attention to detail)<\/li>\n<li>ability to break problems down<\/li>\n<li>can follow a step by step process<\/li>\n<li>someone who can think outside the box<\/li>\n<li>determined and resilient<\/li>\n<li>conscientious and hard working<\/li>\n<li>literate\u2014interpret the key aspects of the question<\/li>\n<li>someone who likes to see an application of their learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Horizons &#8211;
