It combines theory with practice. This allows pupils to be analytical and creative and provides opportunities for personalisation and choice.<\/p>\n<p>The N5 Media course will begin to develop and refine the key skills\u00a0specific to Media. These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>analysing and creating media content as appropriate to purpose, audience and context<\/li>\n<li>knowledge and understanding of the key aspects of media literacy as appropriate to content<\/li>\n<li>knowledge and understanding of the role of media within society<\/li>\n<li>knowledge and understanding of how to plan and research when creating media content as appropriate to purpose, audience and context<\/li>\n<li>evaluation skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>How will I be assessed?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Assessment is through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a 60-mark exam with two sections (Analysis of Media Content in Context, and Analysis of a Media Text)<\/li>\n<li>a 48-mark assignment, completed prior to the exam<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Is this course right for me?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This course is best for those who want to challenge themselves with a brand-new subject alongside their other N5 courses.
