Completing the S3 Religion and Philosophy course covers many of the RME outcomes and supports progression to <strong>Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies<\/strong> and <strong>Philosophy<\/strong> SQA courses along with developing essential skills used in many other subjects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What knowledge and skills are developed?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The course is intended to develop knowledge and\u00a0 skills that will help you in the workplace or further learning when you leave school, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>knowledge and understanding of the impact, relevance and significance of religion<\/li>\n<li>experience researching sources to present analysis and evaluation of views on a moral issue<\/li>\n<li>explaining philosophical ideas and theories<\/li>\n<li>the ability to analyse and evaluate arguments<\/li>\n<li>ICT &#8211; simulating and analysing information<\/li>\n<li>problem solving skills &#8211; developing solutions<\/li>\n<li>report writing skills &#8211; in an engineering context<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How will I be assessed?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your progress on the course will be assessed through a combination of continuous and final assessment. There are opportunities for N4 and N5 unit completion throughout the course.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What might this help me with when I leave school?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Completing this course will help build the skills and knowledge for many social subjects related courses and careers.
