Information for Parents Tuesday 5th January 2021 

Happy New Year to you and all your family. The beginning of 2021 has not been the start to a new year that we hoped for, but we all must stay safe and follow the recent Scottish Government Guidance.  Today is a school closure day where staff will be meeting online to discuss online learning and providing essential Childcare for those who require it. 

Please note the following.  

• All applications for Childcare have been verified by Moray Council Business Support Team. Places have been allocated in line with a consistent set of criteria applied across all Education establishments. 
• All parents who applied for a place will be informed of the outcome by telephone by the end of today. 

• Those who have been allocated a place will be asked to provide information on shift patterns, work rotas and if they still require childcare for their child since more of us are now being asked to work from home.  
• For the rest of this week, only those attending the school for Childcare should attend our school.  
• Online learning will start on Monday 11th January and continue until at least Friday 29th January. Each class teacher will post a short message or task by the end of this week (8th January). We would like each child to respond to this and post on their Google Classroom, so we know everyone can access their online learning.  
• More information on what and how the learning will be presented will be sent out by 8th January via email. 
• If you have any concerns about using Google Classroom or have difficulties using it, please contact the school by telephone or email.  

• Each day, the school reception will be open in the mornings if you need to collect or drop off anything. 
• The Uniform Swop planned for this week is postponed until we know a definite date for our return to school for all children.  
• A weekly Newsletter will continue to go out, where possible on each Friday. This is will allows us to try to keep you updated in what is an ever-changing picture. 

 

As soon as we have new information, we will endeavour to pass it on to parents as soon as we can.  I will be in school each day, overseeing the Childcare for Keyworkers and other families in need of our support. Please do contact me if you have any concerns or worries. Teaching Staff will be working from home, with our Support Staff working in the school.
