screencasting service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/my\/mdlt\/2020\/10\/12\/updates-to-loom-account-for-educators-screencasting-service\/loom\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-674\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-674 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/my\/public\/mdlt\/uploads\/sites\/5597\/2020\/10\/12123708\/loom.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"389\" height=\"129\" \/><\/a>Loom have announced some changes to educator accounts which were upgraded to Loom Pro during the initial stages of lockdown.\u00a0 Loom have created a specialised Education account which all previously verified accounts will be migrated over to automatically.\u00a0 The next time existing users log in they may see pop-ups explaining the changes.\u00a0 Loom will remain <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>free<\/strong><\/span> for verified educators to use and new Loom Education accounts will also be <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>free.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Loom is a screencasting service which allow educators to record their computer screen, webcam and audio simultaneously to created pre-recorded lessons, greetings or presentations.\u00a0 These can downloaded or be shared via a link in a Team, Google Classroom or other platform.\u00a0 Screenscating is a technique that can be used for in flipped, blended, hybrid or remote learning.\u00a0 For\u00a0 examples of how Loom could be used click &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loom.com\/blog\/free-for-teachers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Just as a reminder Loom has been signed off for use by educators in Moray; however only via the Chrome extension.\u00a0 The desktop application can not be used on the network; however educators may chose to use it on their own personal devices. \u00a0Please remember an education email must be used to create your account, this can be either your Edunet or Glow email address.\u00a0 You can find details on how to create and verify your Loom account, and install the Chrome extension &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loom.com\/education\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Foe existing account holders the main changes educators should be aware are &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>45 minute video recording length<\/li>\n<li>New Teams libraries<\/li>\n<li>Ability to capture screen shots<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The new Loom for Education accounts will continue to have<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Unlimited videos<\/li>\n<li>Unlimited Viewers<\/li>\n<li>Calls-to-action functionality<\/li>\n<li>Face, Cam and audio recording<\/li>\n<li>View insights<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/my\/mdlt\/2020\/10\/12\/updates-to-loom-account-for-educators-screencasting-service\/new-loom-icon\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-682\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-682\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/my\/public\/mdlt\/uploads\/sites\/5597\/2020\/10\/15085142\/New-Loom-Icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"174\" height=\"59\" \/><\/a>Loom have also updated their branding, including the new Loombeam logo.\u00a0 You may notice the change of symbol in your Chrome browser if you have installed the Loom extension.\u00a0 More details about all the changes being made to Loom can be found &#8211;
