33 Period Week Consultation

Moray Council has launched a survey as part of a wide-ranging consultation on plans to introduce a 33-period week in all eight of its secondary schools.

It is felt that the new arrangements, which it is proposed to implement at the start of the 2018-19 session, will help to increase opportunities and experiences for learners, raise attainment and achievement, and ensure our young people are work-ready.

Many Scottish local authorities already operate a 32 or 33-period week while schools in Moray currently have a 30-period timetable.

The consultation will involve parents, staff and trade unions but anyone is free to respond to the survey which can be found at

The survey will be open until 5pm on Friday, May 19.

We would be grateful if you could complete the survey in order to ensure that all who are affected by the proposal are able to have their views heard.

There is also an opportunity to hear more about the proposals at the next Parent Council meeting in the school at 7pm on Tuesday, 16th May to which all parents and carers are invited.
