The Unicef UK Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA) is based on principles of equality, dignity, respect, nondiscrimination and participation.<\/p>\n

Our school\u00a0seeks to put the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of our\u00a0ethos and culture to improve well-being and develop every child\u2019s talents and abilities to their full potential. Hythehill Primary\u00a0School\u00a0is a place where children\u2019s rights are learned, taught, practised, respected, protected and promoted.<\/p>\n

We learn ABOUT, THROUGH and FOR out rights and we put them into everyday practice.<\/p>\n

We are very proud that\u00a0 we have our Bronze Level Rights Respecting Schools Award ad our currently working towards our Silver Level.<\/p>\n

Each year group has a Rights Respecting School\u2019s Ambassador to represent them at regular meetings in our Pupil Voice time. Our group is called the Hythehill Rights Heroes. (look our for our special badges which we designed ourselves so that people know who to ask about any rights based concerns or ideas).<\/p>\n

We are busy designing our own Playground Charter which directly links to the UNCRC Rights of the Child\u00a0 This is to help us recognise and realise our rights outside in the playground as well as in our classrooms and within the school building.<\/p>\n

We participate in \u2018Send my Friend to School\u2019<\/strong> every year.<\/p>\n

Last year, we were praised for our super effort with this.Follow the link below to check out the article written about us… We even got a mention in the House of Commons! What a great platform to be able to raise awareness of such important Global issues.<\/p>\n
