The Deputy Child Protection Officer is Mrs Lacey MacDonald.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any wellbeing concerns about your child or any other child you would like to discuss with your Named Person, please do not hesitate to contact them on 01343 830281 or <a href=\"mailto:admin.hopemanp@moray-edunet.gov.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">admin.hopemanp@moray-edunet.gov.uk<\/a>\u00a0. We look forward to working together in partnership with you and your family.\u00a0For Nursery aged children, your named person is your Health Visitor.<\/p>\n<p>During the holiday period the Named Person Service for school aged children will be covered by the Local Authority centrally.\u00a0\u00a0 The Duty Named Persons can be contacted through the general enquiries line on 01343 563374 or via the generic e-mail address\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:educationandsocialcare@moray.gov.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">educationandsocialcare@moray.gov.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As always if the Named Person is not available and there is a concern for a child, a call must be made to Duty Social Work on 01343 563900 (08457 565 656 out of office hours) and\/or the Police on 101.<\/p>\n<h2>Dandelions Military Support<\/h2>\n<p>This is a 3 year funded project, through a \u00a3370,000 grant from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. The initiative is in partnership with RAF Lossiemouth, 39 Engineer Regiment and Moray Council, to support armed forces children in primary and secondary education from regular, reserve and veteran families.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a member of the millitary and you are going on deployment or training, then please let your school know.\u00a0 You can simply complete the following form: <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/my\/public\/hopemanprimaryschool\/uploads\/sites\/5626\/2025\/09\/23082211\/file158717.pdf\">Armed Forces Parental Absence form<\/a> a paper copy of this form is also available from the school office.<\/p>\n<p>By letting the school know about any upcoming deployments or training absences, the school can offer<br \/>\nsupport tailored to your child\u2019s needs. Changes in routine can sometimes cause anxiety or impact their learning and<br \/>\nwellbeing, and knowing about the absence in advance allowsthe school to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide emotional and academic support where needed<\/li>\n<li>Help your child understand more about where their parent is, which can create a positive learning opportunity<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with welfare teamsto ensure families can access additionalsupport if required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Children&#8217;s Resilience and Wellbeing Support (Dandelions)<\/h2>\n<p>This year we are delighted to have been awared \u00a392, 000 funding from the Armed Forces Coventant Fund Trust for a joint bit with Hopeman, Burghead and Mosstodlock to promote resilience and wellbeing support for our military children.\u00a0 Mrs Hannah Taudevin is employed as our Pupil Support Worker to support our forces children during some of their time in school.\u00a0 This project aims to adress the impact and effects of family deployment and seperation on service pupils as well as adressing the needs of small cohors of service pupils in education settings.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes children can find periods when a parent or carer is deployed or away for a period of time for work commitments challenging. As part of Dandelions we also support in the lead up to, during and just after deployments. If a parent or carer is deployed or aware of an upcoming deployment and feels their child would benefit from additional support, please contact the school.<\/p>\n<p>If you find your child \/ children \/><\/p>\n<h2>Home School Link Worker (HSLW)<\/h2>\n<p><strong>We have three home school link workers employed across our Associated Schools Group.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We believe that an effective home\u2013school partnership is essential for the successful education of children. By working together we can ensure that each child becomes happy, confident and secure and will grow up to be a valuable member of the community.<\/p>\n<p>During term time, the designated HSLW work in partnership with parents\/carers, schools and other agencies to support families, aiming to reduce current issues and prevent future difficulties with the aim to ensure that all children enjoy school and are happy and secure.<\/p>\n<p>The HSLW team is able to provide support in school to our children in a number of ways and for a variety of reasons. They will also provide support for parents, carers and families, are able to help with improving attendance and punctuality and also help with promoting positive behaviour.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Our HSLW role includes the following:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Offers support and encouragement to children and their families, parents and carers<\/li>\n<li>Helps to improve communications between families, school and agencies<\/li>\n<li>Enables children and parents to discuss concerns or worries in a safe and secure way<\/li>\n<li>Work with individuals in a flexible way to best support children and their families<\/li>\n<li>Helps children grow in confidence and enable them to enjoy participating in life at school and beyond.<\/li>\n<li>Helps families and children to access services, resources, local community information and support<\/li>\n<li>Offers individual guidance and parenting support<\/li>\n<li>Helps children and families to improve attendance and punctuality at school<\/li>\n<li>Listens in a non-judgemental environment and offers support and solutions<\/li>\n<li>Helps children from across the Lossiemouth ASG, to get the best out of their time at school<\/li>\n<li>Helps children and their families who are experiencing changes and offers support on a wide range of issues that may impact on family life<\/li>\n<li>Offers help with completing forms and other official paperwork including relevant referrals for children to outside services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>The aim of the HSLW is to:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>To ensure all children enjoy coming to school and are happy and secure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Our HSLW can help by providing:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>One to one support and advice<\/li>\n<li>Therapeutic sessions with children and families<\/li>\n<li>Young Carers group.<\/li>\n<li>Signposting to other agencies<\/li>\n<li>Support groups for parents\/carers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Our HSLW can support:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Children who are withdrawn or anxious<\/li>\n<li>Children who are Young Carers<\/li>\n<li>Parents\/carers experiencing difficulties in managing their child&#8217;s behaviour<\/li>\n<li>Parents\/carers whose children are not attending school or who have been excluded<\/li>\n<li>Parents\/carers and children who are reacting to change, such as parental separation or bereavement<\/li>\n<li>Parents\/carers who may need support on a wide range of issues impacting on their family life eg illness, separation, domestic violence, bereavement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>What to expect:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>Before starting to work with your children, your consent will\u00a0be obtained. The HSLW will offer you a confidential service regarding personal issues.\u00a0 If necessary she will seek your permission to share the information with staff at the school or with other agencies.
