The Engagement Team has long provided support to LGBTQI+ Groups within Secondary Schools – Elgin Academy, Lossie High school and Keith Grammar.
We are ready to work with Parters and Young people to shape LGBTQI+ support into a sustainable and highly beneficial suoort network for young people.
We also look forward to working with Nikki Darling from Sacro & The Youth and Community Development Officer for LGBT youth Scotland for Inverness and Highlands. She has been awarded a pot of money to provide LGBT awareness and 1-1 support in Moray. These sessions will take places within Schools, Youth Work settings and a digital outreach.
Sacro have piloted a LGBT Awareness session within Speyside High school alongside Susan Thom from the NHS.
Our future idea is to train Young People as peer educators who could be part of delivery to other agencies and organisations that work with young people. Police Scotland Volunteers have already shown an interest in this project.
