Good Morning P2/3! Welcome to Week 5 already! It’s been great to see some of you chatting and sharing work on the class Teams page on Glow – I hope a few more can make it on this week. I am planning to have a meeting on Tuesday morning at ten o’clock – a ‘join meeting’ message will appear on the class page – you just need to click it to join in. Meanwhile, here are this week’s suggested learning activities:
Reading & Writing:
The weather has been a bit topsy-turvy this week – one day sunny and warm, the next day snow! I don’t know what season it is! Go to Oxford Owl eLibrary and search for ‘Season Swap’. Have a read, with a parent if you like, and try the activities.
For writing this week, make some notes about ‘Season Swap’ and then write a summary of the book. Remember, a summary should help someone who hasn’t read the book to know what it is about. But don’t write out the whole thing! Just a few sentences to sum up the main points.
Topic:
Draw or paint your lighthouse – the one you have made or the one you have imagined for your story – in different seasons and types of weather. For example, in a dark storm with crashing waves, peeping through the fog, or on a calm, sunny day.
Maths:
I have set new challenges on Sumdog for you to work on over this week. If you don’t know your login details then email me on Glow and I will pass them on.
Health and Wellbeing:
Head over to Miss McNab’s PE page for some suggested activities.
Keep tuning into Joe Wicks each day too.
Now that we are allowed out for exercise more than once a day, see if you can increase the time you spend walking, or cycling, or scootering over the week. If you have someone with a camera with you, take photos of your favourite place to go or interesting things you see. You can put them up in the Glow Teams chat page or ask a grown-up to tweet them to the class twitter page.
Take care and have a great week!
