Good Morning P7 Community. I hope you’ve had some time to relax and chill over the past wee while and are keeping as well as you can in the circumstances.
I have changed the P7O Twitter Privacy Settings, so if you would like to Direct Message with a quick query or comment, it should be easier to do now. Twitter : @bishopmill_p7

Travel Tracker can still be completed at home.
It won’t be for ‘the walk to school’ but if you’ve done more than 1,000 steps at home you can click ‘Park and Stride’ and ‘Walk’ for more than 2,000 steps.

Second Level Home Learning Pack completed
Please see below for this weeks suggested Home Learning.
1. Literacy – Persuasive Poster. – Supporting the NHS
Throughout P7 we have explored Persuasive techniques and analysed examples of various styles of poster depending on purpose.
MacMillan Coffee Morning, Energy & Space Brochures, WW2 Propaganda & Enterprise are the most prominent examples of using Persuasive techniques so far in P7.
Can pupils use font, colour scheme, layout, slogan’s and animations to create a Persuasive Poster to promote positive messages.
Pupils can do this by hand, digitally or mix media.
Some examples include -Stay Home Save Lives – Wash Your Hands – Clap for the NHS. Use these as inspiration and think about the message you wish your poster to deliever.
2. Literacy – Reading a chosen book.
Pupils should continue to read a book of their choosing, and at some point this week Visualise from the perspective of a character in the book.
Visualising is one of our Higher Order Reading strategies and pupils imagine they can see from the perspective of that particular character in a certain part of the story.
What can your character ; See, Hear, Taste, Touch, Smell & Feel (emotion).
3. Numeracy – Time – Creating a Timetable
Before the holidays P7 were finishing the math topic Time.
This included creating partial, full day and weekly timetables for a wide range of areas such as a school day, organising an event, creating a TV guide.
This week can pupils create 3 x Daily timetables that include Education, Entertainment & Chores. Remember to include this weeks learning, relaxation, exercise, socialising and household help.
A Bingo Grid relating to household help is in the Second Level Learning Pack.
Also Sumdog will be live this week. There will be Challenges and Competitions relating to Time.
If pupils can’t remember their usernames or passwords, please Direct Message on Twitter and I can send these ASAP.

4. Health & Well-Being – ABC Fitness.
Attached is an A-Z of fitness with each letter representing an exercise and an amount of reps.
Pupils can do this by themselves or with family members. Spell your name, what’s your favourite food? Favourite film etc.
Spell out the answer and complete the exercise and reps for each letter. Alphabet-Fitness
5. Topic – WW2 Junk Modelling.
With our recycle bins filling up I thought we could use some of the cardboard, bottles, cans and pots to recreate some WW2 icons.
This is an open challenge – Perhaps pupils and parents can create World Landmarks, Tanks, Planes, Anderson & Morrison Shelters or people. The choice is yours.
Create and please share your creations on Twitter.
I look forward to seeing what you’ve been up to. Please tweet so we can keep in touch!!
