The primary 1 to 4’s started the assembly with their favourite songs from this year.

The nursery performed a super Olympic opening ceremony.


The P5 recorder group showed what they have been learning this year with Mrs Gilles.

P7 entertained us with their memories from primary school followed by a fashion show displaying their future careers.

Douglas and Amara collected their prizes from the Cairngorm Art Competition.  Amara’s artwork is shown.


Douglas was awarded the Tomintoul School Creativity Award.

Sporting achievements were awarded.  Well done to Jessica, Leah and Mitchell our sports champions!

Conglass House were both points and sports champions this year.


P5 and 6 performed a song dedicated to the P7s.

P7s collected their gifts.

Mrs Walker and Mrs Mitchell were presented with flowers. Sadly, we are saying goodbye to them after ten years at Tomintoul School.

The assembly finished with Molly, Eilidh and Mitchell being awarded the Dux Award.

Here are our new house captains.



Patrick will be the house captain for Conglass House with Keira as his vice captain.


Jennifer will be the house captain for Strathavon House with Catriona as her vice captain.



Harvey will be the house captain for Tomnabat House with Lexi and Kallan as his vice captains.

P1 to 4 had a great day out at the Highland Wildlife Park.  We enjoyed seeing all the different animals.

We have had a busy term in primary one to four.  Here’s some of the things we have been doing:

We have been looking after the garden.

We visited the Crown Estate office and then made our own natural history museum.

We visited the tourist information centre in Tomnintoul then created our own class tourist information centre.

We learned about keeping ourselves safe with PC Potter.  We visited the fire station and learned about fire safety with Andy and Stuart.  We also had a talk from Andy and Charlie who explained about motorbike safety.

We have been investigating where we live by exploring the local area.  We did a treasure hunt around the village, drew maps of the square and carried out a traffic survey on the Main Street.

This term, the children from the nursery who will be starting primary one in August have been visiting P1 to 4 every week.  The health club organised house parties as well for all the nursery children.

Violet has been taking part in 3km and 5km runs, Iona is working hard at ice-skating and Jack is doing well with football.  Eva, Jessica and Violet all did well with bowling.  Jessica was the sports champion for P1-3 this year.  Well done to everyone for their sporting achievements!

Douglas’s river landscape relief.

All the children entered a competition showing their favourite wildlife. Their entries were displayed in the Tomintoul Museum. Douglas and Amara’s pieces were taken to the final which was judged by Nick Baker. They won T shirts for their efforts!
